We woke for breakfast around 8AM and headed upstairs to the Hateigur Room for a private breakfast buffet. The weather was bright and sunny, and the view from the top floor of the Grand Hotel Reyjavík showed a fat dozen large SuperJeeps waiting for next adventure in the parking lot below. Packing camera, windbreaker and other necessities into our blue backpacks, we split up into groups of four and five. Karyn and I paired up with Kathy Yager and her friend Paul Bednarksi. Karyn and I knew Kathy from Ross Roy, where she had worked as a media buyer, and I knew Paul as a photographer from Detroit. Our Jeep driver, Richard, was a quiet young Íslander, and his vehicle, a Toyota, had the requisite fat tires, CB wireless, and lots of good tunes on the CD player. He agreed not to torture us with Limp Biskit and Quiet Riot.
